Alyce Lorrayne Lemar was born June 13, 1932 in Concordia, Kansas to Thomas Russell Lemar and Esther Levica (Kaiser) Lemar. She grew up in Kansas with her sister Marceil Elaine Lemar.

Alyce attended college at Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, Kansas and graduated in 1954 with a BA degree. She then went on to nursing school at the University of Kansas, where she earned her BS in Nursing. Alyce married Richard L. Alyce Lorrayne Lemar was born June 13, 1932 in Concordia, Kansas to Thomas Russell Lemar and Esther Levica (Kaiser) Lemar. She grew up in Kansas with her sister Marceil Elaine Lemar.

Alyce attended college at Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, Kansas and graduated in 1954 with a BA degree. She then went on to nursing school at the University of Kansas, where she earned her BS in Nursing. Alyce married Richard L. Wells in Kansas on December 28, 1955 and they had three children, Jo Lynne, Kathryn Ann, and Philip Linn. Alyce worked as a registered nurse in the hospital, and then went on to become a school nurse until the family moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1963 where Richard set up his dental practice. After Richard's death in 1981 she returned to nursing at the Maricopa County hospital where she especially enjoyed working in the refugee clinic and the homeless shelters. After retiring from her nursing career, Alyce moved to the Seattle, WA in 2002 to be near all of her children.

In the last few years of her life Alyce suffered from Alzheimer's, and passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 21, 2013. In addition to her three children she is survived by her three grandchildren Brandon Dombek, Jason Dombek, and Carly Paauw, as well as her sister Marceil Frost. She is inurned at Sunset Hills Memorial Park in Bellevue, WA.
